Just a question... We have a HP Laserjet printer that I have been able to print to at an Ip address but now I cannot seem to get there. I do not have a local printer whatsoever and use the HP for 100% of my printing needs. I have gone into the remote printer setup in yast and told it where the printer is by IP and name. Yast dutifully creates a printcap for it but still I cannot print. The HP is a Postscript printer so what else do I need to do to get this thing working again? I can ping the printer out there. This is a linux network, BTW. Do I have to setup a local printer also at lp? How does the print job work when queueing to a remote printer and how do I define that it is a postscript entity? I can only see one place and that is in configuring a printer that is local in yast. The remote printer object only asks for the name, IP, spool and port. Thanks. -- Michael E.
