The char-major-5 is for an appletalk module which is prolly not
compiled into the kernel or as a module, anyway, if you goto your
conf.modules file and add the following:
alias net-pf-5 off
that should disappear upon rebooting. May not be conf.modules though is
suse, im currently running slackware at the moment. Also double check
your rc.modules file and make sure that the appletalk driver is properly
commented out.
As for the cua0 problem, the 2.2.Xpre kernels no longer use the cua0-8
you need to relink your /dev/modem or /dev/mouse (whichever is on cua0)
to ttyS0 at which point when you reboot, that should go away as well.
<SNIPPED> from 2.2.0pre 'Changes' file
Also, please remember that cua* devices are now obsolete. Switch to
the corresponding ttyS* device instead (e.g., cua0 -> ttyS0, cua1 ->
ttyS1, etc.).
</SNIPPED>
