Are you, by chance, in KDE? For some odd reason, the CD will refuse to
open sometimes under KDE. Also, the CD player under KDE will not eject if
there is another instance of the CD player running. That's easy to do,
because clicking the X in the corner does not kill the app, but minimizes it.
Also, are you using any of the automounter utilities, kernel or daemon?
