Hi all,

thanks as well from my side for your help. Just to give you some feedback:
unfortunately, setting the interface to half duplex did not help with the
problem. So I also downloaded, compiled and installed the 2.4.19-pre5
kernel. It is now running, and after the positive experiences that other
people on this list had with that kernel, I am quite optimistic that it'll
solve the problem.
