... e.g. the suse graphical grub screen always appends options to
the configured ones, so if you enter "vga=0", you will get

root=/de/hda1 foo bar vga=0x317 splash=silent vga=0

and the second vga= will just be ignored. This is a mistake that i'm
making myself sometimes, so i asked to clarify :-)

BTW (from the rest of this thread): radeonfb ignoring vga=0 seems like
a bug worth reporting to me.
