Hello,

I am trying to get s2ram to work on my Medion MD41300 laptop. I follow the
description of URL  http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram

1 My system is not in the whitelist. I get the following output by
running s2ram -n
Machine is unknown.
This machine can be identified by:
    sys_vendor   = "               "
    sys_product  = "               "
    sys_version  = "Revision A0"
    bios_version = "V1.0 R01-A0U   04/15/2004"
See http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram for details.

If you report a problem, please include the complete output above.

2 I started to investigate an unknown machine as described and I
found that from the console "s2ram -f -a 3" is working, but not from X
itself, the sreen stays black and caps lock does not work.. I entered the
s2ram -f -a 3 command in the Shell Console or in the run command, in both
cases as root.

3 The question now is should I try for X itself all the other
variations of the s2ram command or first try to follow the special steps
for the Nvidia Graphics Chipsets, in my case a GeForce FX Go 5350, device
PCI ID 0x032C. I am running openSuse 10.2 and for me it is unclear with
steps to follow from the referenced
http://en.opensuse.org/ NVidia_Suspend_ Howto

Thanks in advance for the reply

        Frans Leerink
