Hi, I am buiding a MythTV box on machine based on Asus M2NPV-VM motherboard. I am interested in having the suspend to RAM working since it is a good option to put the system in a sort standby and have a quick resume time.
My machine data is as follow: mythtvbox:~ # s2ram -i This machine can be identified by: sys_vendor = "System manufacturer" sys_product = "System Product Name" sys_version = "System Version" bios_version = "ASUS M2NPV-VM ACPI BIOS Revision 0801" See http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram for details. My lspci output is: mythtvbox:~ # lspci 00:00.0 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Host Bridge (rev a2) 00:00.1 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 0 (rev a2) 00:00.2 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 1 (rev a2) 00:00.3 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 5 (rev a2) 00:00.4 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 4 (rev a2) 00:00.5 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Host Bridge (rev a2) 00:00.6 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 3 (rev a2) 00:00.7 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 2 (rev a2) 00:02.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation C51 PCI Express Bridge (rev a1) 00:03.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation C51 PCI Express Bridge (rev a1) 00:04.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation C51 PCI Express Bridge (rev a1) 00:05.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation C51PV [GeForce 6150] (rev a2) 00:09.0 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation MCP51 Host Bridge (rev a2) 00:0a.0 ISA bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP51 LPC Bridge (rev a3) 00:0a.1 SMBus: nVidia Corporation MCP51 SMBus (rev a3) 00:0a.2 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation MCP51 Memory Controller 0 (rev a3) 00:0b.0 USB Controller: nVidia Corporation MCP51 USB Controller (rev a3) 00:0b.1 USB Controller: nVidia Corporation MCP51 USB Controller (rev a3) 00:0d.0 IDE interface: nVidia Corporation MCP51 IDE (rev a1) 00:0e.0 IDE interface: nVidia Corporation MCP51 Serial ATA Controller (rev a1) 00:0f.0 IDE interface: nVidia Corporation MCP51 Serial ATA Controller (rev a1) 00:10.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP51 PCI Bridge (rev a2) 00:10.1 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP51 High Definition Audio (rev a2) 00:14.0 Bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP51 Ethernet Controller (rev a3) 00:18.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] HyperTransport Technology Configuration 00:18.1 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] Address Map 00:18.2 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] DRAM Controller 00:18.3 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] Miscellaneous Control 04:05.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Texas Instruments TSB43AB22/A IEEE-1394a-2000 Controller (PHY/Link) 04:08.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7146 (rev 01) I have tried basically all the combinations explained in http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram without success. Basically what happens is that the box come back to life even though there is some disk activity that last for few seconds, but the TV output is never restored. My distribution is OpenSuse 10.1 and the kernel command line is as follow: kernel /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/sda2 agp=off vga=0 noresume noapic init=/bin/bash splash=silent showopts I have tried to use first the basic setup on a bare machine withtout X and using init=/bin/bash Output from dmesg after resume is as follow: Freezing cpus ... Stopping tasks: =======| Back to C! PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:00:02.0 to 64 PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:00:03.0 to 64 PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:00:04.0 to 64 ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:0e.0[A] -> Link [LSID] -> GSI 5 (level, low) -> IRQ 5 PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:00:0e.0 to 64 ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:0f.0[A] -> Link [LFID] -> GSI 5 (level, low) -> IRQ 5 PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:00:0f.0 to 64 PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:00:10.0 to 64 Restarting tasks... done Thawing cpus ... I have tried also OpenSuse 10.2 live DVD. I have tried to use the vbetool 0.5, but no luck as well. Does anyone ever tried s2ram on this platform ? Could you please give me some advise on how to further debug this problem ? ________________________________________________________________________ SERVIZIO VOICE: TELEFONA e INVIA SMS dal tuo computer a tariffe vantaggiose!
