I have been in trouble for a very long time about suspendig my machine.
The symptom: I use my laptop, and when I ask, it goes to sleep (for example
s2ram -f -p -m or s2ram -f -a 3 commands work). I also can resume, in a very
short time, it's excellent. BUT if I try to make it suspend SECOND time, it
will fail.
What happens: If I send it to suspend SHORTLY after the resuming, it works.
But, as I want to use my computer, after the first suspend/resume I work with
that, and if LATER I want it to put sleep, it dies.
In the case when it goes to suspend, the screen blanks, and I have to wait
2secs and it suspended, the LED is blinking, everything is fine. While
resuming, the hardwares going be enabled, and there is some noise I hear from
the CD-DRIVE (as it's normal).
In that case, when it cannot go to sleep, the screen blanks, I wait the 2
seconds, and then the computer doesn't turn off the screen, and the drivers,
even I can hear the "enabling" noise from the CD-DRIVE.
Unfortunately I cannot investigate, where the suspend process hangs, but if
you help, I can post all the important outputs and files that it is wanted to
help solving my problem.
The hardware side:
It is a Hungarian firm's laptop called Albacomp, but it's basically a CLEVO
M550N notebook.
1,86GHz DualCore Pentium CPU,
Intel GMA950
1Gigs of RAM
The software side:
Linux kernel 2.6.20 that is provided from ubuntu in feisty edition
uswsusp_0.3 with feisty's 20060928 cvs-patches
