That's true, I just tried both to confirm: 1. switching on a text console (Alt+Ctrl+2): s2ram -f works fine, wake-up as well. 2. I a X-Term window on GNOME desktop the same s2ram -f woks. Some additional info: Power consumption is : idle desktop 84 W s2ram 13 W (CPU-fan also stops) after wake-up 79 W The reduced power after wake-up is due to the fact, that my PCI-TV-Card does not work any more (Hauppauge PVR150), but all other things resume correctly, like: harddisk USB (tested with usbmsd device, mouse) network (onboard NVIDIA) So for me it is (almost) perfect. Remark: the 'stand-by' and 'suspend' optins supplied by the Ubuntu dektop in the shutdown menue are useless. Wake-up is performed by 1 short push on the power-button of the PC/Power Supply.
