Something you airplane guys may want to look at is the Moller Rotapower engine. The guy with the "flying car". The rights have been purchased by a company hoping to use them in watercraft due to efficiency and power to weight ratio. But supposedly they can be fitted to ru on any fuel, and "stacked" to increase output. They are one of the options being considered by hybrid designers because of these features.
