apparently he drove it all over as promotion, but the oil companies were getting too interested, he hid it somewhere and nobody has found it. besides, i got the info second hand, in a story, i think it might have been an old ripleys that i read in HS. then i didn't have more than a passing interest, so i didn't make any notes.
