Definitely -- I learned recently that ethanol for gasohol and for cosmetic
purposes is usually made by fermentation, but that denatured ethanol sold
as a solvent, especially if it's 200 proof, is usually a fossil fuel,
produced "synthetically" by the hydration of ethylene. Too bad for those
interested in producing a fully renewable biodiesel based on industrial
grade ethanol. Of course you can always insist on "fermentation grade",
but it may be more expensive (for awhile).    -K
