Forgive me if this is a dumb question or a long settled topic, but nothing popped up in an archive search. I have been asked by a retired official of the national defense enery policy-making sort, in the ASEAN nation where I live, to look into the bona fides of naptha-water emulsions as an 'alternative' fuel. (I don't happen to think that naptha is very alternative...but...)
An Internet search via Google turned up a flurry of articles from 1994-96 but nothing later, so this thing either was blown out of the lake as a fraud, or buried. Apparently this was invented by a Gunnerson in Nevada, whose A-55 LLP made a lot of bold claims about efficiency, mileage, low emmissions esp NOx, and low cost, but was not very forthcoming with independent tests. The US EPA however apparently did approve the stuff ass a primary fuel and Caterpillar Tractor formed a JV with these folks. Then, suddenly, the subject just seems to have dropped off the scope. I am not a specialist in this sort of thing, just a chemist who makes liqueurs. Can someone pls give me the abbreviated version of what really happened? _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com ------------------------ Yahoo!
