Some good stuff, maybe not quite what you wanted, but apparent that aircraft are showing very good increases in fuel efficiency over time, much better than we are doing with cars. Also consider the amount of energy that goes into creating and maintaining roads, rail lines , land taken out of production, etc. Rail is still best though.
