The big problem is, heavy metals is an every day fact of life, from paint to
soap, from water pipe to the can of food.  Unless you can find out just how
a piece of ceramic was made, you are not likely to know.

There are test kits out on the market that could give you an idea of what in
your house might be giving off heavy metals (some glazes on ceramics are so
bad they will leach, with nothing but hot water), but, just how precise they
are, I have know idea. The idea is to start at the end product ( say the
gray water ) and test your way back to the offending source.
