Please read my reply to Martin. It answers all your last questions.

It is worth bearing in mind that biomass has to undergo a complicated
and currently expensive process -enzymatic or acidic- in order to
convert cellulose and  hemicellulose into glucose and xylose. It is
likely that the route to enzymatic hydrolysis will be the process of
choice when enzymes become cheaper or if they can be recycled.

In any event, I will be happy to share with you and the forum any
information I may come across related to bio-ethanol low cost processes.
