Hello Cliff, You're doing it right. The glycerol is suppose to be liquid at room temp. Use a separatory funnel to remove it.

Done on a stirrer hot plate. Although I appear to have formed a layer of glycerine on the bottom of the flask, it is not congealed, but is still liquid at room temperature (24 h later). Did something go wrong? Perhaps on a related note: the titration indicated that the wvo was not very acidic. It required only .55 ml to turn the titration sample to pink ( titration done on a stir plate w/magnetic stirrer, 1ml wvo w/10ml 99+% isopropyl, lye solution - .5g/.5liter). I did the titration several times, each time with approx the same result. So, for the 600ml of methanol, I added 12.15g of red devil lye (3X(0.55 + 3.5) = 12.15g). The vwo came from supermarket where they fry chicken and also make donuts. Any help interpreting these results would be greatly appreciated.
