Getting cancer isn't good for the wallet and I would rather inhale 0.1ppm cyanide than platinum. Metals that exhibit catalytic action are hell in biological systems. For example, a simple method of inducing a tumor in a rat is to place a bit of nickel wire under his skin. I suppose platinum would do as well or better but nickel is cheaper.
