Geez, it's beginning to sound like a brewer's guild meeting around here.
Ale vs. Lager, pellets vs. whole hops, the list goes on and on, and it
all boils down to personal preferences. Having fermented a few
intoxicating homebrews, and socialized with fellow homebrewers, I've
heard these kinds of debates before over beer. A Celtic proverb comes
to mind: "An it harm none, do what ye will."

PS: If you wouldn't eat yellow snow, why would you drink yellow beer?

For my production batches yes but not for test batches, like to
eliminate as many variables as possible.

Superflous for you practical for me. To each their own with tollerance
for the other persons preference.

Keith arguments are something I don't enter into unless I have something
to gain. I presented the method, others have tried it and it suited
their production methods..If others want to use it I am happy to help .
At no time do I insist that it is the only way to go. Wether or not
anyone uses the method is of no concern to me. What does concern me
however is when my results are denigrated. My work has been conducted in
a scientific manner, is fully documented and can be duplicated by
anybody given the same materials and conditions. Can the same be said
for the detractors of the method? Very few of us in this group have
access to facilities and equipment to provide definitive test results.
At best we can only offer guidelines which are often subjective. My
objective is to follow the old principle, "First know the rules then
bend them" I'm a stubborn old bugger who likes to learn by his mistakes,
and on the way have come to some interesting conclusions on BD making
based on scientificly conducted investigations.

In the future if the test results I quote involve the use of conc
aqueous NaOH or any other variation from the "standard method"I will
state such.
