My town water is unchlorinated untreated water off some sort of
of alpine glacier. They test the heck out of it for organics
weekly and it's always come up good. People drive here from
miles around to fill their drinking water containers. And one
bottled water company uses town water as their source.
However, there are alot of mines around here -- a federal
superfund site about 3 miles below town, and according to some
people, alot more that should be. I wonder how much heavy
metals are leached into the drinking water -- most of the mines
are below the source, but I don't know if ALL of them are. It
would be interesting to send a sample in for testing.
