Hello Andrejs,

There isn't a moderator for this listserv, so there isn't any single person
who would feel a responsibility to respond to your posting. Also, only a few
people on this listserv (out of several hundred) are on the operations team
for Sustainable Tompkins, so folks would need to respond as individual
citizens. (Our board doesn't meet for another 10 days, so we would not be
able to
respond as an organization by the close of the comment period. Please
understand that we are all volunteers.)

Speaking for myself, since I already participated in the public hearing for
the Black Diamond Trail, I guess I figured I'd already demonstrated my deep
support for multi-use trails (besides years of service in trail groups).
Perhaps that is how many other readers felt -- we're already on board and have
let OPRHP know.

You are right that multi-use trails are an essential piece of providing both
healthy infrastructure and a means of sustainable transportation --
especially long trails like the BDT. I'm glad to see that OPRHP has finally
completed the Plan, but wish they were lined up to start implementing the plan
right
away.

I do hope that other readers, who have not yet voiced their opinion on the
Black Diamond Trail, take advantage of the materials that you are offering.
I'd love to see a much improved trail system in our county. Wish there were
plans for our (eastern) side of the lake!

take care,
Gay

OK, so apparently there is no interest among the Sustainable Tompkins
group in the development of multi-user paths around Ithaca. I'll go
away. But if somebody could just shoot me a note of explanation where
I'm wrong about relevance, I'd appreciate it. No big deal, of course.
Best,
Andrejs
