Ithaca Carshare, a local nonprofit that provides the community with 24/7 access to a fleet of vehicles on a per-hour basis toward a mission of enhancing community access to transportation while reducing negative environmental and economic impacts, is seeking someone to join our eco-conscious, dedicated staff.
The ideal candidate is excited about working for a dynamic organization, with both people and things, reliable in working with minimal supervision, results- and detail-oriented, creative, and experienced in taking personal initiative in the workplace, and comfortable with flexible duties and schedule. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a clean driving record are required, while a sense of humor is optional but helpful. We need someone to help us make Ithaca Carshare a valued community asset, whatever that takes. If you like cars, but hate their impacts, this position is for you. This position has strong growth potential as Ithaca Carshare gets established and expands in the community. This is an opportunity for a confident person with a professional outlook to start at the early stages of a new organization. This general staff position combines functions of fleet services, member services, on-call customer service, and other operational duties. Duties include significant interaction with and support for potential and current Ithaca Carshare members, setup and care of the Ithaca Carshare fleet, use of various common and specialized computer software, interface with various other agencies and organizations, and others as needed. Duties, schedule, and scheduled hours will vary from week to week and will include evenings and weekends. This hourly position will start at 8 hours per week. Hours may grow over the coming weeks and months as the organization grows. Starting pay is $11.18, and benefits include an Ithaca Carshare membership.
