Here are some photos that include shots of the 55 gal drum toilet we have
used for 25 years here in NY, and a couple of shots of a more airy model
we built when we lived in southern France. They both are built on a
masonry foundation tall enough to hold a year's build-up of humanure,
either in bulk or in the convenient drum, which when full is capped and
continues to compost somewhere else. The drums are available cheaply from
industrial/commercial outfits that buy liquids in them. They last 2-3
fillings before they rust out.

I am posting to the whole list because others may be interested.
Self-built these outhouses cost a fraction of commercial ones designed
for indoors. As the Chinese say, civilized peoples don't shit in their
houses.
