AARP mag September issue pg 72 claims Ithaca has most (16.88%) green 
commuters - ie they walk or bike to work.


Yes, and this number is WAY high, compared to all of New York State, 
even NYC, and many other areas as well. One reason it's high is that 
for students, going to school is their job, and many of them walk. 
But it's still great, and includes lots of wonderful walking by many, 
many Ithacans. And the city and lots of other folks are working to 
make walking and bicycling more and more feasible and appealing, so 
hopefully that number will just go up!!
