Adrian--There is a used clothing/textile dumpster at the Tompkins 
County Solid Waste Division recycling center.  They really want 
usable garments, but things that aren't useable go to a 
recycler.  Some people use the components of old blue jeans for craft 
projects.  See for example:

Do you know any school teachers?  They are often looking for
