Thought some folks might want to know about the upcoming conference on 
sustainable farming on February 5-7 in State College, PA.
More than 80 workshops will be offered (including some "pre-conference" 
offerings on Wednesday, Feb. 4) and include:
    * two 2-day tracks for beginning and advanced cheese making
    * a sustainable forestry track
    * "21st Century Victory Garden: Growing Your Food & Energizing Your 
Community"
    * a "Green Learning, Green Living" track for teaching sustainability at 
the high school level
    * a Food and Farm Policy Advocacy track
    * workshops on native medicinal plants, dye plants, year-round growing 
with tunnels and mulch, fencing, growing nut crops, pastured poultry, small 
space community food production, plus some solar energy and straw bale

The event is sponsored by the Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Working 
Group (NESAWG) and the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Farming (PASA).
Keynote speakers will be Raj Patel, global food activist and author of 
"Stuffed and Starved" and Bernard Sweeney, director of the Stroud Water 
Research Center (PA).

There are reduced rates for PASA members (with non-profits able to list 3 
individuals as members), a farmer discount, scholarships for new or 
developing sustainable farmers, and a "work study" option for
