Rebecca Thompson, national artist with close Ithaca ties, will be coming in
mid-July to create several works for the Downtown outdoor art exhibition. She
works with all kinds of wood and a bunch of us are scouting out tree trunks for
us. I now could use help with a truck to transport - ?She's also in search of a
portable mill (see below), and would be glad to have folks of any age work with
her (also see below) - she'll be working out at Jack Simrell's workshop in Etna.

2. yes...scout out tree trunks. would the city be willing to mill any (portable
mill) if I wanted to just square anything off for table or seating? 3. I may
need assistants but won't know until I get there what construction we will be
able to do based on what wood is available.    but, we can start asking around.
timber framers would be great. also, i was hoping to find young students who
would video tape process and take photos for your website in exchange for the
experience and credit on website. what do you think? I contacted my friend,
Penny Romantic who works at the Youth Bureau and she said there is a group that
is already paid for the summer and they may be interested. would you like to
call her and see what she suggests? or do you want me to continue to pursue
this? it's just a little tough with the long distance calls and 3 hour time
difference.
4. Andy is still out of town i guess and they didn't know when he would be back.
thanks..you are good with that blackberry
