long-awaited Charter for Compassion will be officially unveiled today at 9:30am
EST at theNational Press Club in Washington DC.
To celebrate the launch 123 international partner organisations have created
175 events in 32 countries, on every populated continent.This global movement
has inspired hundreds of thousands of people to fulfil TED-prize winner Karen
Armstrong’s wish of repositioning compassion at the heart of people’s lives and
communities.
global tolerance has the responsibility, working alongside TED and the Charter
for Compassion team, to develop the partnerships and co-ordinate the global

be launching a communications movementwww.globaltolerance.com/tole-rants on 16
November 2009. The ‘tole-rants’-60-second hope-filled videos will revolutionise
the paradigm of addressing social problems.Today’s launch is only the beginning
of this worldwide drive to implement the ‘Golden rule’ of compassion. Please
