Greetings! *On May 9, Dilmun Hill's Growing Mosaics Garden is delightedly offering an advanced workshop with Edible Forest Gardens author and designer Dave Jacke! * Please read our announcement below for more details.

The whole scoop: *Edible Forest Gardens 201 Gardening Like the Forest: Building Effective Polycultures *Sunday, May 9, 2010 11AM- 4:30PM Dilmun Hill Student Farm Cost: $40 prepaid by April 30 Lets get practical: how does one design effective polycultures in forest garden ecosystems? We�ll briefly review basic theory, then solidify that theory with a guild and polyculture game and later evaluate Dilmun Hill�s Growing Mosaics Garden polycultures based on what we learn. We will look for what is working well and suggest how to build better polycultures onsite. Bring your copies of *Edible Forest Gardens, *Volume 2, clipboards or field notebooks, and one or two of your best references on woody and perennial plants (catalogs count!) to add to our resource library for the day. *Prerequisites:* Familiarity with Edible Forest Gardens, Volumes 1 and 2 * and/or* attendance at earlier workshops with Dave Jacke. Previous experience with forest garden design is a major plus. *Is this the right workshop for you?* Since this is a more advanced workshop, please ask yourself these questions to ensure that you�ll be ready to go! We don�t need to know the answers to these, but it will help you make a decision about coming. - What is a polyculture? Can you describe one? - What benefits do polycultures potentially accrue to gardeners?
