Hi Doug & Tom, This looks like it could be fun. I'll go for PNG and Batik: a bit of a learning curve, but I think it's worth it.
btw, the "snapshot" svg view is handled nicely by having a replication of the viewer's elements at the server. I send just the snapshot Id's and let the server do its job in creating the document.
