SVG is MIME type text/svg+xml - and the xmlns value for SVG 1.1 has already been published. Personally, after seeing how incompable JScript was with Javascript, J# was with Java, and VC++ was with C++ for a long time - I just hope they take their time, and do it right the first time. I think the world has had enough of copy-and-modify use of standards during the last decade to last it the next century. If they focus on implementing the same subset of the standard as Firefox or a proper superset of it, that would be pretty good for all involved, right? Right now it is looking like Firefox 2.0 will be released before IE 7 goes final, let alone IE 8. If they try to do too much new stuff in IE 7, it is never going to come out.
