This saved a few CPU cycles, but requires read-modify-write on first DMA burst. This is expensive on newer processors, and it is better to just align the DMA and let the CPU do the work. The upstream kernel has switched to aligned DMA for all X86 versions, but for Vyatta don't want to risk changing behavior on i386 this late in cycle. http://suva.vyatta.com/git/?p=linux-vyatta.git;a=commitdiff;h=3ffd6633a0b92f03ed9109fddc56c6daa6dc9ece http://suva.vyatta.com/git/?p=linux-vyatta.git;a=commitdiff;h=2e380a00c3a59b9c21dcb66581572b2b9f63c132 http://suva.vyatta.com/git/?p=linux-vyatta.git;a=commitdiff;h=85ca513f939a93c022bb8fecd4e07dfed12b235b _______________________________________________ svn mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.vyatta.com/mailman/listinfo/svn
