I prefer the BCD396T because it allows
both "reading & writing" to the radio
and "computer control".
The Pro-96 only allows programming
or "reading & writing" to the radio.
It doesn't matter when you just carry your
scanner but when your sitting at your
desk it's nice to have the 396 running with
a control program. This way I don't have to
look at the scanner and see what's active
because it's on the screen!
