I used 200 but any suitably large number would work.
The other problem is that verse++ at the real end of a chapter would neither
advance to the first verse of the next chapter nor throw an error.

An auto advance through blank verses, or auto advance only if it leads
to a new chapter, may be a fix if it doesn't break something else.
