Greg, Thanks for your reply. I was wondering if there was someone in the wider community that had tried to use WSL with Sword, because I am on the verge of wanting to try it myself.
Given that there is not an official Windows build of the utilities, and that our team is dependent on creating Sword modules in Windows, I am to the point of wanting to establish our own capability of building the tools for Windows. I could set up a Linux machine, but my available workspace is maxed out, and so I had the idea of using WSL. As for whether or not the osis2mod in Subversion is working correctly or not, I can't answer that question if I don't have a Linux installation, hence my question about WSL. The Windows version of osis2mod in the latest distribution of Xiphos is NOT working correctly as far as I can tell. Our modules do not have linked verse ranges, whereas that was working correctly with osis2mod version 2893 (but which doesn't have the French versifications that we need). Theoretically if an installation in WSL can be used to create modules, that might be a solution for our team instead of using the Windows utilities. It depends on how easily and reliably such installations can be set up and maintained on our Windows workstations. The current version 3141 in Xiphos does not link all verses in a verse range to the commentary for that range. I brought up this problem several months ago. I have been waiting patiently. I still do not see any updated utilities in the usual places. Is this problem fixed in Subversion? If it's not fixed there, you'll not see an update to the Windows utils that reflect the fix. If it is, then you'll need to wait until I curate a 1.8.2 release that includes the relevant patches. At that point I'll make a new build of the Windows utilities in the Fedora MinGW toolchain, then create a release of the utils to my own download area. Just a friendly reminder: there are NO official Windows builds of the utilities. Anything that exists in the Windows world for the utils exists solely from my hands. And I own neither a Windows machine nor do I contribute at all to the development of the utils. I only curate the release branches and do the builds for the Fedora packages, including the MinGW version. Those versions are identical to the Xiphos for Windows release, which simply package up the same files from my same builds.
