A new book on ethics approaches the subject from the perspective of values.
Glenn Martin’s Human Values and Ethics in the Workplace shows that it is
possible to do better than simply making more rules and enforcing them. A
positive approach to ethics is possible, shifting the focus from compliance to
aspiration. The book describes how the behaviour of people and organisations
falls along a values spectrum. It explains how people act the way they do
because of their beliefs about the world. There is a transition from compliance
to aspiration. In the book, Glenn explains what these world views look like and
the kinds of behaviour they lead to. He also looks at how people – and
organisations – expand their world view and develop a personal (or corporate)
set of ethics. The book is being launched at the 9th Australian Publishers and
Authors Bookshow at Leichhardt Town Hall on Sunday, 18 November at 11.30am.
Alastair Rylatt, author of Winning the knowledge Game, will be launching the
book.Further information about the book is available at
