Not quite sure where to go for further information on this, but no doubt a
Google search will reveal all...
For something completely different.......!We like to keep you updated with
information about concerts but this email is to let you know about something a
lot more controversial!
You can join in some of the most provocative and informative live debates in
Australia when the Intelligence Squared Australia series kicks off at City
Recital Hall later this month.
The Intelligence Squared (IQ2 Oz) live debates aim to raise the level of debate
on the issues challenging Australia. They provide the only public forum for
debate on the crucial issues of the day. The six debates will be exciting,
witty and provocative and topics will include:* Islam is incompatible with
democracy* China is not fit to host the Olympics* America has lost its moral
authority. After formal argument by expert panels, the debate will be thrown
open to the floor for comment and questions, so you’ll be a key part of the
topic’s drama and excitement. Votes on the motion before and after the debate
will show how audience opinion has shifted.
The first debate, Islam is incompatible with democracy, will be held on
Tuesday, April 15 and promises to be nothing short of heated!Five more debates
will follow throughout the year at City Recital Hall Angel Place. Don't miss a
great opportunity to get your intellectual juices flowing. Tickets are $30/15
(booking fees may apply). Please click here for more information.
IQ2 Oz is run by the respected and independent St James Ethics Centre and is
supported by The Sydney Morning Herald.
