This talk will introduce the subject of ontology. The centrepiece of the
talk will be a performance of David and Stephanie Lewis's charming dialogue
"Holes" in which two interlocutors discuss what would be required for holes
to exist. This dialogue provides an excellent illustration of two rival
philosophical approaches to ontological questions.
