Dear Colleagues (with apologies for cross-posting), I am pleased to share the next episode of my podcast series, Rethinking South Asian Philosophy, created in collaboration with SBS Spice<https://www.sbs.com.au/audio/podcast/spice>. SBS Spice is a digital platform hosted for and by South Asians, presented by the national broadcaster SBS<https://www.sbs.com.au/audio>.
The series explores a range of topics and emerging conversations in South Asian philosophy as practised and discussed both in Australia and by philosophers working in or originating from the region. It is aimed at both philosophers and a wider general audience. Episode 4, Rethinking South Asian Philosophy: Caste, Mind, and the Work of Liberation, is now available online. Abstract In this episode, Bhanuraj Kashyap (Macquarie University) speaks with Dr Miri Albahari (University of Western Australia) about enlightenment and the claim that pure consciousness is the ground of reality. He also speaks with Dr Yarran Hominh (Bard College) and Dr Supriya Subramani (University of Sydney) about caste, graded inequality and how our social identities are formed. This episode also explores the importance of anti-racist and anti-caste philosophy in contemporary society.
