Hi list, First, I'd like to thank all the early birds who installed and tested the sfSimpleCMSPlugin since it was released two days ago. Their feedback is much appreciated, and I've just released a new version that should fix most of the reported problems. This latest version (0.7.0) is not backward compatible with the previous one due to a heavy refactoring of the slot system (slots are editable zones of a page). I'm sorry for the inconvenience it may cause to the early users, but the benefit is that from now on, pages can have as many slots as the template needs. This also justifies the fact that I downgraded the status from beta to alpha. I may do some more changes breaking BC in the near future. As soon as I'm confident that the codebase is steady enough to serve for the majority of uses, I'll make it beta and then (after possible bugs get corrected) stable. Many people wrote me to share their views and expectations on the plugin. It shows the importance of a well-designed simple CMS for symfony, and I really think we should not rush too much on this plugin. The bad news is that I will probably not work on the plugin in the next two weeks (I'll be off to the countryside). I'd like to supervise the changes, so in the meantime, I invite all the people interested in developing the plugin further to exchange their views in the mailing-list, and to open tickets (and attach patches). The place where the plugin mostly needs assistance is webdesign. The current CSS is dreadful, and I would love some help from a good webdesigner to make the default templates nicer. Also, documentation (both PHPDoc and README) should be extended, but I prefer to wait until the plugin is stabilized to require assistance on that field. All in all, I'm happy about the success of the sfSimpleCMSPlugin, and I hope it will fit most of the needs for a simple CMS - eventually. Cheers, François Zaninotto
