In my company, we just starts using version 1.4 and we still have plenty
of projects waiting for their migration from 1.1 or even from 1.0.
Even if the 1.4 will be maintain for 3 years, with all the exciting news
around 2.0, the best bet is to accelerate the migration to 2.0.
But I can't imagine the amount of work to convert a 1.x project to 2.0
cause it'll like starting from zero.
What I propose, and let me know if it make sense, is to create some
"migration bundles". A bundle that embedded the full Symfony 1.x
framework that can work inside a fresh 2.0 project.
With the help of this bundles, we could start moving application one by
one or add some 2.0 components to an existing 1.x project.
What do you think ?
As I've already said, it is just too early to know what will work best.
We will try to do our best to privide some kind of migration path. But
the actual plan is not known yet. We first need to stabilize Symfony 2.
