That's the same path I've got my external set to, and I do see all of the doctrine tasks.
It's been a while since I've installed Doctrine and sfDoctrine, so I'm not sure if there are any special steps, but I don't think there are. I assume you've cleared your cache so that symfony adds the Doctrine paths to the autoloader?
