Hi Tadej,

what you wrote also applies to Debian. I think we should make it so that if people really want to depend on mpmath externally have the option to do so --- but they are now on their own if sympy breaks (and it does break with various earlier versions of mpmath).

Now when we dropped Python 2.4 support, we can use relative imports. So I think it should be quite easy to keep a copy of a working mpmath version with sympy, but have a switch (in setup.py?) to use external version if the user wants.

Then the Fedora patch should be one line, or maybe just passing an option to setup.py.
