I've learned (thanks to Vinzent, I think) how to work on Windows with the test runner and don't have the same problems anymore...I would have gone crazy by now if I couldn't get that to work easily. However, the test runner has been upgraded significantly in terms of its ability to do all doctests and that in itself warrants the upgrade.
