I just noticed that there is now and "Update Branch" button on PRs that
won't merge cleanly with the master branch. It creates a merge commit to
bring the feature branch up-to-date. This is a nice easy way for our
contributors to navigate this process. They'll of course have to pull from
the branch to get synced locally afterwards but it could be a good idea to
encourage the use of this button. FYI
