Can you maybe write a serializer for it? Or would that defeat the purpose of multi-threading here in the first place? I mean make a "queue" you load up that does this mime/word document bit one at a time - it's own thread - isolated from the rest of your app - all threads hit a critical section - add new "job" to the queue, leave critical section - tmeanwhile the QUEUE just does one after the other until empty and then either polls or is event activated (resumed maybe) when a new job comes in.
