Jason, >> Which brings us full circle to Programming 101 - LOL <<
Yup. There was a strong statement to that effect in my original composition. I yanked it out... Deep down I think even Roy realizes that we can't do anything with this other than commiserate and remind "ourselves" of some basic things. With threads even us "advanced" grey (or white-) beards can sometimes get flustered enough to not consider all the debugging possibilities. And while they're basically the same techniques, there are some altering subtleties to them when applied to threads, so I was just outlining some outstanding things to watch out for that sometimes slips right passed us when staring at an intractable problem. Especially when it's the sort of debugging we don't have to do very often. The tunnel vision gets so strong there's no periphery to be seen at all any more <g>... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Planet: dedicated and managed hosting, cloud storage, colocation Stay online with enterprise data centers and the best network in the business Choose flexible plans and management services without long-term contracts Personal 24x7 support from experience hosting pros just a phone call away. http://p.sf.net/sfu/theplanet-com _______________________________________________ synalist-public mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/synalist-public
