+1 on versioning it in line with odccm in future, as it is basically a
souped up odccm rather than something from scratch... And its not like odccm
has gone through as many versions as libsynce, either. Its also nice for the
core components to be in step with each other for clarities sake.

It would also be nice if we packaged this in favor of odccm this time
around, and started to phase out odccm.
