Yes, I think there is such a need (there might be KDE GUI soonish),

... yes, this is not quite correct. As long as KDE doesn't have a
"native" GUI, they'll use sync-ui.

Taking all of this into account I still think that "SyncEvolution (GTK)"
is the least evil of the alternatives.

I like "Office;PDA". Not sure about "GTK". I don't find it in
http://standards.freedesktop.org/menu-spec/latest/apa.html and which
toolkit it uses shouldn't be relevant for the menu.
