Hey Andy,
Presumably the page views tells you if anyone else is looking at
your feed info. Don't know how useful this number is.
As for pings, this is the number of times Syndic8 has received
notification that your site has updated. You can either make a
direct XMLRPC call to do this (any number of free PHP / CGI / etc..
scripts exist to do this) or you can use Ping-o-Matic
(http://pingomatic.com) to notify a number of RSS feed sites that
your site has been updated.
